# DocMaster — Privacy Policy

DocMaster is a document and file toolkit for Android. **Your documents stay on
your device** — but the app is free and supported by ads, and it uses analytics
to run and improve, so it does collect some usage data and identifiers through
Google's services, described below.

## What stays on your device (never uploaded)

Your **files, folders, scanned documents, photos, and recognised (OCR) text**,
and the on-device catalogue of filenames/metadata that powers browse and search,
are processed **only on your device**. DocMaster has no servers and does **not**
upload, transmit, or share your document contents. Text recognition (OCR),
document scanning, and translation all run on-device (on-device translation
downloads a language pack once from Google — the pack, not your text).

## What is collected, and by whom

The app includes Google's advertising and analytics SDKs, which collect data as
described here:

- **Google AdMob (ads).** To show ads, AdMob collects device and usage
information, including an **advertising identifier**, device/app information,
approximate (IP-based) location, and ad-interaction data. This data is shared
with Google and, for ad delivery/measurement, ad partners. See Google's
  policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- **Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics).** To understand usage and improve
the app, we log **app-activity events** (e.g. screens viewed, which tools are
opened) together with app instance identifiers and general device information.
This is processed by Google on our behalf. See:
  https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- **Firebase Remote Config.** Used to fetch app configuration (such as which ad
units to show). It does not collect your personal data or your files.

We do **not** collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, or the
contents of your documents. There are no user accounts.

In Google Play's Data safety terms, DocMaster **collects and shares** *App
activity* and *Device or other IDs* (including the advertising ID) with Google
for **advertising** and **analytics**. It does **not** collect or share your
files, photos, or documents. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS)
connections.

## Consent (EEA / UK)

Where required (e.g. the EEA and UK), the app shows Google's consent (UMP)
message on first launch so you can choose whether to allow personalized ads. You
can change this choice later from within the app's ads consent options.

## Permissions

- **All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)** — requested only when you open
the file manager and choose to grant it, so the app can work as a real file
manager across your storage. Decline and it falls back to the system folder
  picker.
- **Camera** — only when you use the document scanner or ID-card scan.

## Your choices and controls

- **Reset or limit the advertising ID:** Android **Settings → Privacy → Ads**
(reset or delete your advertising ID; opt out of ad personalization).
- **Ad consent:** change your consent choice in the app's ads options (EEA/UK).
- **Delete local app data:** Android **Settings → Apps → DocMaster → Storage →
Clear data** (removes the local catalogue, recents, and favorites).
  Uninstalling removes all local data.
- **Analytics/ads data held by Google:** manage via your Google account and the
Google policies linked above, or contact us to request deletion of data
  associated with your device.

## Children

DocMaster is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children, and does not
knowingly collect personal information from children.

## Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the
revised policy at this URL.
